The Roaring Twenties Newsreel: This 75-minute program focuses on the decade of transition from past traditions to modern life. Following World War I, there was major economic prosperity and shifting cultural norms, such as jazz music, flapper dance styles and women's suffrage. It also featured deep social tensions, including Prohibition and the rise of organized crime. A variety of dance styles dominated the era, including Charleston, Tap, Jazz, Tango, and Middle Eastern. In keeping with the shift towards technology, our radio newsreels offer highlights in all aspects of life.
